LG PAY STRIKE : THURSDAY, 10TH JULY 2014
It is not appropriate for Healthcare staff to cover Local Government colleagues. UNISON does not approve of strike cover being provided by NHS Staff.
There is also the issue of Shared workplaces. Unfortunately, the legal position is that UNISON pickets should not induce workers who are not on strike to take strike action as they would have no legal protection if they refused to cross a picket line. However, they should be advised that they should NOT undertake any of the duties normally performed by the strikers.
