A decision will be made shortly about who will run Patient Transport Services across the North West.

Contracts will be issued for each of the five areas within the region: Cumbria, Lancashire, Cheshire Wirral & Warrington, Merseyside and Greater Manchester.

It is widely hoped that the NHS provider, North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), will be chosen to provide a high quality service in each area, but the NHS faces competition from commercial organisations who would like to make profit from running the service.

Please show your support for the NHS by signing the petition (click here).

In Greater Manchester the passenger transport service is currently run by the private company Arriva after a controversial decision to outsource it in 2013.  The failings of this for-profit service have been well-documented in the local press.  NWAS has submitted a high-quality bid and it is important that they are awarded the contract.

Please sign the petition to oppose the commercialisation of our health service (click here).
