Well, if like me you felt January lasted 8 weeks

Well, if like me you felt January lasted 8 weeks, then February seems to have gone by at 60mph. I enjoy writing the blog as it gives me time to sit back and reflect on another busy month.

February was LGBT+ history month which finished with a great morning at Earl Mill to launch our NHS Rainbow badge. There was a presentation of the badges to the staff who attended and have completed their training (if you couldn’t attend we will be sending your badges out to you), and a great opening from our trust chair Evelyn. We were joined by the Proud Trust and the LGBT foundation and it was a great event that I was very proud to be part of. If you would like to attend the training and receive your badge the courses are on the internet training section. I also attended the board development session to do an LGBT+ awareness session.

The month started with Unison regional council in Liverpool on a Saturday, some great information around the early points from the work Labour link is doing around the loss of Labour seats in the north west.

I took part in the first employee forum in Oldham with Karen Maneely, we met staff from across the royal Oldham hospital wards and community teams, we hope to roll this out to all other divisions

There has been a lot of meetings this month we have been supporting our members at grievances, dignity at work, sickness and conduct hearings. Also the Trust have some new consultations being launched (and one not yet started for dental). I have spoken to a lot of members this month about a massive variety of issues.

Our new Fighting Fund staff from UNISON started with us this week and Claire Garner is our lead, Claire has been out and about around Trust for a few weeks arranging visits to our areas, hopefully we will be able to update more next month on what she also been up to.

I’ve even managed to take some leave this month! Must be why it went by so quick.
